all the info above is correct, the biggest thing is the make of your car, I have a volvo and I have to call a week ahead of time because for my car no one has those pads in stock, they have to be specially ordered. if you have an american brand, honda, toyota, a more common vehicle then go off of the above answers.

if it is just brake pads, prob. an hour or so. If you need to get your rotors or drums turned a half a day is reasonable.

obviously, it also depends upon the shop's volume and staff. Call, make an appointment and drop your car off early. You can then pick it up later that day.

happy stops....

I was able to get new rotors and brake pads on my truck in about 2-3 hours and parts had to be delivered to the garage. If this occurs or the rotors need to be turned instead of replaced, you are probably looking at about the same amount of time. You should be able to get out of the garage by 10.30 or so.

normally the job itself should take only a couple of hrs...that's turning the rotors and all. you may have to leave it for the day though as they may have jobs in front of you, however you should be able to drop it off in the morning and pick it up after work.

a basic brake job, front, install correctly with cleaning and lubing hardware, machining the rotors about and hour and a half....slamming pads only half hour...

it shouldn't take more than an hour or so if the shop isn't busy.
