...that you were pregnant and you continued to take your birth control what would happen to the baby. A friend of mine told me that she continued taking her birth control for about 2 weeks just to miscarry and I don't know if that's true. With my son I wore my patch by habit and remembered to throw them all out a couple days after I found out. But, lets say you didn't know you were pregnant and you continued to take your pills could you actually miscarry?

The pills won't make you miscarry. They're not designed to do that.

That being said, you would get sick if you, say, took a whole pack at once. But it would still probably NOT end the pregnancy; it would be more likely to cause health problems or deformities. And there are only a few kinds that would do even that. Most won't.

If your friend is doing this she needs to know that it will not solve her problem. If this was before and she did miscarry ... it was not related to the pills.

There is probably a chance of miscarry due to the hormone influx from the pills but it's certainly not a safe way to do that and she may just damage the baby's development with chemicals. Definately not a recommended method!

This happens a lot - usually by accident. In all the years that literally millions of women have taken birth control, no one has shown that the use of these pills in early pregnancy harms the baby. So rest easy and take good care of your friend.

Most likely your baby would be fine. The horomones in the pill mimic pregnancy, but at this point your body is producing real pregnancy horomones on it's own. One of my best friends got pregnant on the pill and didn't know for a few weeks. To be on the safe side, inform your dr. It is irresponsible to intentionally do that while pregnant, as your friend did. It could be dangerous, I imagine, to the mother and of course to the baby.

It is a possability. My sister did not know she was pregnant continued taking her birth control, had periods and did not find out she was pregnant till about 24 weeks, 11 weeks later she delivered a baby who was healthy but underweight. And he is now six months and you would never know he was a peemie (he is a big boy).

I have heard of some girls doing this to miscarry, but I don't know the truth of it. I do know that it can cause your baby to be majorly deformed and it could totally mess up your system.

It's possible but not likely. A huge dose of bc pills could cause a miscarriage but not the tiny doses of a daily pill.

i would say no because birth control does not make you have spermicide in your body. so no i dont think that it would make you have a miscarrage. i dont think that is true that would happen. i took birth control for 6 months when i was pregnate and well i now have a baby and i didnt have a miscarrage
