Ceasar was killed because the members of the roman senate felt that he was close to declaring himself emperor of the roman empire. They felt that their republic was a better form of government. He was popular enough with the people that they felt the only option they had was to kill him.

The conspirators never met openly, but they assembled a few at a time in each others' homes. There were many discussions and proposals, as might be expected, while they investigated how and where to execute their design. Some suggested that they should make the attempt as he was going along the Sacred Way, which was one of his favourite walks. Another idea was for it to be done at the elections during which he had to cross a bridge to appoint the magistrates in the Campus Martius; they should draw lots for some to push him from the bridge and for others to run up and kill him. A third plan was to wait for a coming gladiatorial show. The advantage of that would be that, because of the show, no suspicion would be aroused if arms were seen prepared for the attempt. But the majority opinion favoured killing him while he sat in the Senate, where he would be by himself since only Senators would be admitted, and where the many conspirators could hide their daggers beneath their togas. This plan won the day.
Julius Caesar
Two days before the assassination of Caesar, Cassius met with the conspirators and told them that, if anyone found out about the plan, they were going to turn their knives on themselves.

Brutus participates in the murder of Caesar in William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar." While Brutus's motives are honorable, his actions lead to his downfall of himself and Rome. Brutus kills Caesar because he fears Julius Caesar will become king.
Moreover, The reason Brutus participates in the killing of Caesar fascinates me because his perspective is different from the men around him. Brutus is a friend of Caesar and believes in democracy. He fears that Caesar will be crowned king but has no concrete evidence. All he knows is that Caesar refused the crown thrice, which is a fact. However, Casca informs Brutus that Caesar was reluctant to lay his fingers of the crown, this is an opinion which can be misleading, and also Casca is known for his sour nature. Brutus continues with the killing, not knowing the truth behind Caesar...

Because someone else wanted his frequent charioteer miles. Murdering your way to the top was commonplace back then. It's why the rulers of ancient nations were so brutal-- they had to keep the populace in line in order to stay alive and in power, so they killed anyone who disagreed with them. Sooner or later, someone is going to take offense to that and take his revenge. Brutus did it to Julius Ceasar on March 15 in 44 BC.

G'day Chocolatecaramel1494,
Thank you for your question.
The conspirators led by Brutus and Cassius feared that Caesar who had been appointed Dictator of Rome for life was going to appoint himself as king and end the Republic. Ironically, Augustus who was victorious in the struggle after the assassination proclaimed himself emperor and ended the Roman Republic.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Seasons regards

Most simply put - he declared himself Emporer for life, therefore reducing the role of the Senate to ceremony.
