No No No!! Those balls are not for guinea pigs. Ya see, there legs are very short and they get tired very easily. When they are in those balls they have to constantly walk and they have no room what so ever.

I suggest buying a guinea pig harness and leash from petsmart or where ever they sell them. That way, your guinea pig can walk where he/she wants to,stop when he/she wants too, and still you will be able to watch them. I allow my guniea pig to run around the house freely. She loves it! Then I just go around where she has been to see if she have poopied any where. But if you have other pets then that is not the best idea unless the other pets are outside or shut up in a room where the guinea pig cannot get to.

Keep in mind with the harness though, it will take some time for you guinea pig to get use to it. I allowed Gizmo, my guinea pig, to just wear it for a couple days taking it off and putting it back on her several times, trying to get her use to it and not be afraid of it. I never take her outside with just the harness and leash though, because since their spines aren't like hamsters I can't put the harness on her tight enough so she can't wiggle out of it. If I did, it would harm her. Now she loves her harness and leash and is not afraid of it at all!

You can also buy a play pen for your guinea pig. I have one for mine. I bought it at petsmart also.

Yeah, The Rolley Ball is not a good idea because guinea pigs have very fragile body frames and their spines don't bend like mice or rats... But the Outdoor run idea is always good. I like to make sure my living room is guinea proof and just watch them run around, they love space to run , play and popcorn !

Those balls are terrible for guinea pigs' backs and can do a lot of damage. Before I knew that I bought my guinea pig one and all she did was sit in it and poop anyway.....

No, dont use them or those "pet harnesses" that are sold in pet stores.

Guinea Pigs' spines do not arch backwards. Harnesses, exercise balls and wheels force their spines unnaturally and they could be seriously injured. Harnesses can also severely frighten a GP causing it to wiggle fee and run off.
