Alright, so it's down to two guitars: An Epipnone Les Paul (can't afford a Gibson), or a Dean Dime-O-Flage. I'm really, really into metal. Like that's my life. But I also like the RHCP, and stuff like that. So which guitar do you think I should get? I really want both.

The Dimebag is pretty much a metal guitar, while the Epi LP will be a little more versatile. You should really try to play both and see which one YOU like better. I would get the LP, then save up and get a better version of the Dimebag axe.

buy both i would assume that youve already played everything in your price range . if you havent do thatfirst than come back.as far as your question i started on a epi les paul but im not a total metalhead. but just so you know the heavy distortion on metal is compliments of the amp not the guitar

Go with the Epiphone... you'll be MUCH happier. Both the Epi and the Dimebag are made in Korea, but the Epi has better quality control.

Dean's are hit or miss...the lower priced one's are more often "miss." Epiphone is not bad, it's still made by Gibson. Go with the Les Paul.
