You can not kill them because they reside in the system memory. To remove them follow the steps I mention.
1. install a new Windows XP or the windows OS you have. This method will keep your old system acting but the new windows you going to install will be not an upgrade, a new installation parallel to old system.
2. When Installation will be finished, do nothing, just simply install McAffee Security Suite 2006 or later buy it or download a trial.
3. Run the McAffee update after the system restarts, update from internet is necessary.
4. run the mcaffee suite and whatever virus found just remove it.
5. some viruses should be removed manually that will be pointed by mcaffee don't worry.
6. restart the computer and run mcaffee again and again to ensure no virus left in the system.
7. after doing so, run the mcaffee everyday for a week and keep updated.
This method is proven and you dont have to worry more now.
No other virus scanner will remove viruses on a affected PC.
P.S. Do not remove any data or format your disk. Just believe what I say.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.
Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php
Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.
It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
If the above 2 can not fix it use HijackThis. Caution this is very powerful and you can destroy you OS if you delete the wrong thing.
Download HijackThis---http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis. Run and Save a Log. When you log comes up copy and paste the entire log at http://www.hijackthis.de/ . Analyze your results. You will then get a screen that will tell you if you have any nasty stuff in your computer. Follow instructions to deal with any nasties. CAUTION: This is a very powerful tool. Be careful

you may download a free secure practices procedure from IO Bit protection familiar as IO Bit protection 360; it truly is first cost. I downloaded it this morning because of the very shown truth that of a rogue virus i'm having significant situation with and it became once the only secure practices procedure that the rogue virus allowed to run. It determined 315 viruses on my computing device and offered rid of them all! So all you've were given to do is form in IO Bit protection for your search for bar and also you may be perfect, even with the undeniable fact that do no longer put it aside, Run It at the same time as requested, ok? i have determined it really is more beneficial to take action at the same time as some thing like this comes up - so, astounding of fulfillment.

Download Spybot Search and Destroy and the rest to a mates pc desktop, burn them to cd and install from the cd.
Norton is an anti virus and you need anti spyware.
Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it. All the following programs are free for personal use;
You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.
http://www.zonelabs.com Zone Alarm firewall OR
http://www.comodogroup.com/ - Comodo security suite.
You need to install one anti virus;
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ -AVG anti virus or
http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus
You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
And these are useful utilities;
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.
http://www.winpatrol.com
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.
http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm - The Spyware Warrior site identifies fake anti spyware programs.
https://www.grc.com - Shields Up security site, check your firewall works.
Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

Try booting it up in safemode to cure the problems - otherwise the only choice is to format the C drive and reinstall windows. Doing this you will lose everything on the PC though and it goes back to factory settings xxxxxx
