As long as it's got a hole in it, you're off to a roaring good start.

If your not that good yet, and your just exploring, I would suggest you go to a pawn shop and get a guitar. Don't get one that's cracked, or scratched. Definetely get new strings cause you don't know how long the one's on it have been on it. This way if you do lose interest then you won't have wasted money on an expensive guitar just to end up throwing it in the attic with all the other things that you may have lost interest in. Mothers have great yard sales because of this. The alternative is to rent a guitar and to sign up for basic lessons. Don't sign up for the advanced course, you'll quit the first day. Good luck.

If you're serious about playing, it pay to search for quality and spend a little extra money--your fingers (and ears) will thank you.

That said, there are some very nice accoustics nowdays in the price range you mentioned. If played some inexpensive Yamahas that sound very nice.

Hope that helps a bit.

$350.00 dollars is not the price of a crappy guitar. I would buy a good used one for under $100.00 and use it until I knew I was going to stick with it.

by a mid range one. Go to local music store and tell them what you are looking for, they can help you out alot. I wouldn't get acoustic though... electric sounds so much cooler
