I have a 91 Honda Accord, 4 cylinder, manual transmission and it’s giving me some strange problem.
Every time a drive it for more than 14 miles the car starts to vibrate.
But it only vibrates when I step on the gas. I took it to the mechanic but he couldn’t
Tell what it was because it doesn’t do it constantly. It only does it after 14 miles and when it starts doing it, it only vibrates when I step on the gas. The vibration gets worst as I go along. Has anyone had this kind of problem? or does anyone know what it is?

I don't know your car, but does it have a steering damper (sort of a shock absorber for the steering system that lies horizontally on the steering system.

If so, then replace it...

Second choice:

check your tire balance... that will do it too, but it is an obvious problem and your mechanic prob. checked that already (which is why it is my second choice and not my first).

Third Choice :
Ball joints or Idler Arm...

Stupid idea dept: You checked your lug nuts .... right?

ok. .... thats it for me....

good luck

Hey, I actually had the same problem with my 95 Mazda....I changed the spark plugs, which made somewhat of a difference, and got my aliignment done. Maybe you should check out your tires? The inflation, are they warped? Are your rims in good condition? In the worst case scenario, you might have some "clogging" in your spark plug units...unfortunately, to stop oil burning and clogging, you might have to replace your piston rings...which is $$$$...But I think you should start off by examining your tires and considering allignment, and then open up your hood to see what else can be done. Good Luck!

definitely start with the spark plugs. it sounds like the problem starts when your car warms up and the metal starts to expand. it could be the fuel injectors as well.

Is this on the same road or any road?If it's the same road I would suspect the road surface,if not then can't help, could be any number of things.
