NO! Lethal injection is far to easy, the death penalty should include severe physical torture until death occurs and by doing so the death penalty would become a true DETERRENT!!

Hell no!!! Was what happened to the victim(s) involved in this persons sick twisted fiasco cruel and unusual? What about the torment that the friends and families have to go through now!!! No, it's not cruel at all!!! I wish they did it more often. It might cut down on the crimes done in the world. All rapists, molesters, and murderers and anyone else who takes the life of someone else(rapists and molesters take lives, too) ought to be put to death without any question. I don't care. I'm sick of these judges who give these freaks parole and they go out and take lives again. It could have been prevented and alot more lives would be saved if the perpetraters are taken out! Cruel and unusual.....Give me a break!!!

If society has decided (wrongly or rightly) that they are going to kill people they consider a danger to the public then I can't think of another way which is more humane. I doubt many people sentenced to death would opt for the guillotine or firing squad or hanging for that matter. And the electric chair is not a way I would like to go that's for sure. To be honest I would consider keeping someone alive and in jail a worse punishment than death. Lets face it nobody is going to ever learn from their mistakes if they're dead are they? If someone has committed a terrible offense and they are going to spend the rest of life in jail that has got to be worse than death. There is so much a free person can do and enjoy over someone who is in jail. I.e. walking on the beach, sex, alcohol, surfing, motorcycling, driving, live music, you name it the list is endless (whatever does it for you) but perhaps the biggest thing a life sentence denies someone is 'choice' which is something a free person has and which you cannot put a value on. To wake up every morning and think "I am never going to get out of here" has to be worse than a quick painless death. And on that point maybe that is the whole idea of lethal injection - i.e. it is more humane than a life lived out in jail.

Lethal injection is a very humane way of execution. First they put you to sleep. Then they inject the lethal dose. The person doesn't feel a thing, which is more than they deserve considering they've killed a person or several people who more then likely suffered. Should've ( should ) given them the chair. I have no sympathy in that department.

is not the simple fact that you are taking somebody life and practicing eye for an eye not sruel and unusual punishment? what defines cruel and unusual-i would think it is the morals upon which america is based or the intended morals bc they have not always fulfilled their moral obligation but really our country implies that we are not barbarians
so does lethal injection prove us more more civilized than countries which poison gas their prisoners. the death penalty has failed in any manner and will continue to fail bc it lets criminals off the hook. most ppl woud rather die than spend life in prison contemplating. we allow them this escape so not only are we defeating our purpose but choosing to deter violence by commiting more violence.
i think the ? should be if the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment. Unusual no but cruel maybe..certainly ineffective though.

No. It is not cruel because the condemned doesn't feel very much pain, it's by far the most humane way to execute someone and it happens all the time so its not unusual. Most importantly the Supreme Court says that it is not.

No, it is painless for the condemned. I believe though that people who killed someone should be killed using cruel and unusual punishment. I would think that most people would see that if you kill someone, that you will be killed in the same way and they wouldn't do it, (although most don't care)
All I can say is I don't feel sorry for the criminals getting executed in a humane way, I feel sorry fo the victim, who didn't need to die and was brutally killed in cold blood. The legal system needs to be tougher on killers.

my fiance was fatally shot to death many years ago and laid their dieing for hours until his parents came home..Of course it was too late. His brother did it because he wanted to take the car and my fiance would not give him the keys..He served 2 years and got out..I loved him with everything in me..I don't think lethal injection is nearly painful enough..They should come up with something that is LONG and tortuous. My friend was the sweetest man on the face of the earth and for a car key he was murdered...I have no compassion for murderers or what they get

i'm unable to declare that I even have ever heard anybody argue that deadly injection is merciless and unusual. that's the least merciless approach in use on the instant. in reality what happens is that your putting somebody to sleep. i'm not a vet, yet I surmise that's the same technique used to place down a unwell puppy. that is humorous how many human beings have any form of sympathy for loss of existence row inmates and are in contact approximately their loss of existence and choose it to be painless. provide me a injury. those adult males are finished products of crap, who dedicated violent offenses and should die. Do you think of they cared approximately their victims as they pleaded for their lives. the place became into the sympathy for their victims. those adult males do not care, they are basically sorry they have been given caught. I wager a majority of loss of existence penalty combatants have on no account labored in a optimal protection penitentiary or ever walked a tier in any form of penitentiary. I wager in the event that they did they might have a distinctive opinion. bear in mind, one does not finally end up on loss of existence row for making a song too loud in church. greater oftentimes tan not those crap stick inmates have killed cops, corrections officers so f- them. I haven't any sympathy for them. finally, no rely what approach you arise with to execute the unfavorable little inmate some bleeding heart libral hippie is going to wine approximately it. I say hit upon a tree, get a rope.

Not at all cruel.. Personally, I would make executions public by hanging and put them live on CNN and other major new media. THAT would be a REAL crime deterrent.
