What chance do you think the time table idea promoted by many of our law makers is tied to their polical hopes in 08 regardles if it causes a civil war or much more loss of life there.

That's a great idea! Not only cut and run, but broadcast date and time we will leave! With all the money that is spent on our military, the best in the world, one would think the politicians would let them do the job they are trained and paid for!

It is tied to the political cycle. The Iraq Study Group Findings said to pull out by early 2008. That would be too soon for any gain to be remember by the time of the election. If they are going to pull out of Iraq, it will be in September of 2008. This will give Republicans are good chance of winning the election. Remember when Bush I won the first war against Iraq. It was finished by March 1992. The economy went down and everyone forgot about Bush's victory. He lost to Clinton. The chances are small for early 2008, but 60% for it by September 2008.

I think that a "time table" is a Catch-22. The insurgents will only have to bid their times until the troops have been withdrawn. Iraq is another Vietnam (quagmire), how can we fight people who are willing to kill their own to prove a point?

We will NOT leave Iraq until every drop of OIL is sucked out of its sands. That's why we're there; that's why we'll stay. If that isn't the case, WHY is the United States building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the 'new' Iraq puppet government's headquarters?
We'll be there for generations. -RKO-

I hope all the soldiers who lost a limb, all the families of soldiers who died, and all the soldiers who are now mentally warped bring action against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Warfolwitz at the ICC for sending them to a MEANINGLESS, UNJUST, ILLPLANNED and ILLEGAL war!

You lost so much for NOTHING, N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!!
