A friend of mine and I want to talk live while playing WoW but do not want to have to set up a teamspeak or ventrilo server (we don't mind downloading the client but neither of us is technical enough to set up the server). Will Yahoo IM work or another program?

I don't see why not
You may want to be careful of the performance impacts. It would be BAD to have an IM pop up while you are in the middle of a fight

Yes it will work ... u can use yahoo IM.. my BF used to chat with me while he played and I do it sometimes now too. just set WoW to window mode by clicking on the little computer at the bottom with all your system options that u click on to log off. then click on video options. look for window mode..box should be unchecked..click it to check it

just use skype, you can talk to 5 people at once, its crystal clear, and you don't have to minimize any windows or play in windowed mode.
