Sorry, I've never taken calculus, but our teacher says it's hard. You get this equation, and, after numerous steps, like multiplying, finding square roots, BEDMAS, etc. you get a huge answer, after starting from an equation that's half the length of your pinky.
And if you mess up in say, step five, you're done for.

Well it's kind of hard to say how "hard" calculus is. For some they catch on rather quickly and some just can't seem to get it.
I'll give you a description and see what you think about it:

Calculus is what I would call a very "mechanical" area in mathematics. Calculus is basically divided up into 3 areas
Differentation, Integration, and Both of those in 3 dimentions.
Differentation is finding derevitives of functions (basically a general form of a slope of a line at any point. Integration is finding Integrals which is the area underneath a graph of a function from one point to another point. And the last part is you just do the other 2 on 3 dimentions adding in a z coordinate.
In calculus you go very step by step and learn rule after rule and as long as you stay on top of it and understand what all the symbols mean (it's kind of like a foreign language) then you can learn it very easily. I think alot of people get tripped up on the real understanding of what is going on when finding dereviteives and integrals.
Now when finding either of these for functions that aren't so simple there are TONS of rules that you must MEMORIZE in order to be able to do the problems. Anyone that says that you don't need to memorize things in calculus flat out doesn't know what they are talking about. Here is an example:
given the function f(x)= (3x+9) and G(x)= 4x
ok finding the derevitive of the function f(x) times G(x)

Now when finding derivitives of a functions that are multiplied you can use this formula : (derevitive of the first times the seconed) + (derevitive of the seconed times the first)
meaning derevitive of f(x) times 4x and derevitive of g(x) times (3x+9)

I don't really need to finish the problem. Anyway you can see that if you don't know that formula then you can't even get started on a problem like this. If the 2 functions are divided or composed the formula changes and so on. Integrals have their own set of formulas ... so ya there is tons of memorization.
As far as the math itself goes it is pretty darn simple. If you know your algebra rules and trignometry rules your good to go. They will get into summations and limits too, but that as well is pretty darn simple. The proces to doing all the problems is very mechanical (meaning you don't need to do any real "thinking" to solve those problems... if you know those rules and you can apply them your gonna do well)
The number one piece of advice i can give you to do well in calculus is to PRACTICE. Do all your homework and go to every class. If you skip even 1 class all the rest of the things that year your gonna find hard. Calculus builds on itself so that if you don't understand one part of it it could easily ruin your whole year in that class. Well that's about all i reallly got to say about it. Good luck.

Calculus is not hard at all for me, but math is the only thing I find really easy, so I guess that's not surprising.

If you are thinking of taking Calculus, you probably already know how to write functions (like, f(x) = 3x + sin(x), or y = 3x + sin(x)).

In calculus, you'll differentiate f(x) to find the slope of the function.
You'll also learn to find the AREA under the curve if you drew this on a graph. That's called integration. MUCH of calculus is spent figuring out clever ways to INTEGRATE!
