To become a primary school teacher you must have English, Maths and Science at GCSE grade C or above. You can have pretty much whichever A levels you like but one (or preferably 2) core or foundation subjects is a good idea and preferred by unis.
Core subjects are English, Maths and Science and foundation are the rest, i.e. history, geography, art, music, PE, ICT etc. Modern Languages are a big advantage et the moment because by 2008 all primary school children must be studying one. Many primary teachers can't deliver it, so it's great if you can. You can then do either a degree in primary teaching or an academic degree followed by a PGCE (and there are other routes too).
Hope that was useful!!

Hiya
not just qualifications. Primary PGCE / B Ed places are hard to get onto. Get some time in helping at a local school. Explain why and they will help you. This will also let you decide if it's what you really want.

I think you should look at this website:
www.TeachersTraining.info
You need to be sure that is what you want to do. It is hard work but very rewarding.
Good luck
