Present day Iraq at least has a future with freedoms in sight, maybe in a few months or years. Under Saddam, there was no individual freedom to be seen ahead until he was ousted. One step at a time, and Iraq will be a free nation surrounded by lands of tyranny.

Why would anyone choose to live under a blood thirsty dictator? I'd choose present day Iraq of course! With the US troops there it is far safer. The liberal biased media only reports the bad news not the whole story!

Present day Iraq. At least there is a faint chance at freedom and Democracy. In Saddam's Iraq you did as Saddam wanted (if his son's wanted to rape your wife for instance) you did it or he would torture and kill you.
The problem with present day Iraq is that Iran and Syria are intent on destroying any chance of a Democracy there, and hope to take it over when we leave.

According to the US media, life is dreadful there, but if you talk to anyone who has actually been on the ground in Iraq, you get an entirely different story. One that is much more believable.
