The most insidious evil that exist today would have to be the notion of evil being some sort of force that is in constat battle agaist good. Evil is not a force that we have to fend off. It is the lack of good. When someone says "I am good i have not robbed or killed" they are wrong in the sense that althought they did not do bad things they also did not do good actions. Their sin is ommision. Evil will not exist if people do good instead of nothing.

We all have our own ways of thinking. We all think something is good while other thinks something else is evil. It's like the saying one man's pain is the next man's pleasure. I can't really answer the question.

I believe its religion because if you research history, all of the wars in the past 2000 years have been over differences in religion. Even today wars are going on over religion. My opinion on religion is that the only thing that matters is what you believe. It shouldnt matter what anybody else believes in.
