?

a "higher" death penalty?

what does that mean? you want to also disembowel them?

dead is dead.

anyway, the death penalty has proven over and over again to not be a deterrent of crime.

I'm not sure what you mean by "higher death penalty." Do you mean what if they used it more often? And carried it out quicker after sentencing? Well, I think they should definately carry it out much quicker. Anything over a couple years on Death Row is ridiculous. States with capital punishment should carry out the death penalty like Texas and Florida do. But, ssadly, even though I am Pro capital punishment, I don't think it is much of a deterrent, since 90% of all murders are crimes of passion, in which the murderer does not stop and consider the consequences of his actions. The only way a Death Penalty could serve as an effective deterrent would be if it was used for robbery, or rape, or other violent crimes. THEN the people who commit those offenses would refrain, I guarantee you. They do this in other countries--mostly Middle East--and have almost zero crime. But the U.S. will never do this.

I am not sure what you would mean as a "higher" death penalty, maybe for more levels of crime. But in my opinion, once the death penalty is given in court, they should walk you out of the court and into the next room and administer the death penalty. Over and done with, and this would save millions on tax payers money, and faster relief for the victims, instead of this dirtbag enjoying "life" for the next ten years at our expense. And I think if we went this route, it would sure send a message out to the dirtbags.

As death-row inmates stay on said row for years, I am not sure if it would make a difference in crime. Are you writing a paper? Death is the ultimate penalty. If somehow the process was sped-up, people may think twice about premeditated acts. It wouldn't stop crimes of passion as they are irrational in nature.

You know, there would be lots less crime if f u c k i n g employers actually hired people instead of demeaning them before sending out a rejection letter a month later.

you dont understand the procedures behind the death penalty.
Sometimes convictions are wrong and they try to find out more evidence JUST IN CASE as guilty is given as within reasonable doubt.

please dont post unless you understand.
