After reading your question and trying to consider being dirt poor here is my answer...
I would have to say that yes i would consider doing this if i felt that my child/children were going to get a better upbringing than the one that i could provide for them. However I would ensure that i had regular updates/contact to make sure that my child/children were properly cared for and that they understood their roots, and why I chose their path for them.

With the welfare system, no one is ever truly poor in this country very few if any people suffer from absolute poverty we do however suffer from relative poverty in that the rich have lots and the poor have a lot less.
But if I was in a situation where I suffered from absolute poverty then I would put up my child/children for adoption to do the best thing by my child. After all isn't that the role of a parent to look out and after their child best interests. I could never profit from my child, to me personally it goes against my own set of ethic's.

You can have them adopted - it happened alot years ago but sadly although the kids may get a better life - it left scars in the memories of both the kids and the parents. Not the ideal solution that it seems xx

I make damn good money and in California I know its not much. I would be living large anywhere else...lol...I would however not be able to give my kids up nor sell them for that matter. I had them, its MY responsibility to take care of them by any means.

no because children dont see it that way.. they grow up thinking that they werent loved by their parents..as long as a child is loved it doesnt matter if they come from a poor or rich family.

why do you naturally assume that children will bring you all these things? Children bring love and joy - not really material comforts. If you geniunely want a child - I can certainly understand that because that is how I am feeling right now -I am a bit desperate.

You could not sell but you could allow them to be adopted.
