There is no direct proof? How much proof do you need, lol?
You don't really believe that it's a coincedence that Halliburton and company are making 100s of billions of dollars in gain from Iraq? You think that it's a part of war? Of course it isn't! Why haven't droves of US companies gone to Kosovo in 1999 to set up its business there? The answer is obvious.
Do the math people.
Bush's legacy is in the ditches but I still believe that some people are stupid enough to fall for everything that he says even though he says 100 different things on the same topic.

No, Bush was trying to use the unity of 911 to correct what he perceived as a policy mistake by his father. He used American 911 unity to try and old cold war tactic called "nation building". The thought being, if the war on terror was to be won we would have to counteract the backers of the terrorists, countries such as Iran and Syria, by flanking them with successful new democracies. ie: Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq. Obviously he overestimated his ability to win the hearts and minds of the peoples in those nations. Now we may lose the entire region to Islamic fascist. The truth is the Bush legacy will not be fully understood for one-hundred years. My guess is he will be viewed as one of the worse of all time if the entire region falls to terrorist states. Although don't forget that Winston Churchill was regarded as a failure and run out of government until Hitler over-ran France. Then he was welcomed back as a visionary. Time will tell.

I agree. It's very much akin to how Barry Bonds will be remembered. May hold the record, but there will an asterisk next to his name.
Same with GWB. Everything that's happened, how effective he was, the decisions he's made will be reviewed with suspicion because of his ties to corruption or corrupt people.
To be fair, Clinton had Foster and Lewinski. I think proof will happen with GWB, though. There's going to be some deathbed confessions and people wanting to clear the consciences once there's no fear of retribution.

He did not create 9/11 and ignore those paranoid people. If anything, Clinton or Bush Sr. should be blamed for getting the terrorists pissed at us, as when they were in office was when the terrorist attacks started. And, it is not 100% of ther fault either. it's a shame his legacy will be ruined just because of one bad decesion: Iraq. His approval rating up until then was up to 80%. Then, we went to Iraq.

You must have missed the vote.
Democrats demanded and voted for Bush to take out Saddam.
Hillary & Lieberman are still supporting and betting on Bush.
Democrat Congressmen own millions of dollars of Halliburton stock.

I think his legacy will be that he didn't listen to the naysayers; anyone who had intelligence that he didn't want to hear. Who ever thought that a democracy would work in an Islamic country just didn't do their homework. Their religion is their political system and always will be.
