your hymen does not break only from sex. they dont have to tell your mother that you have had sex. your hymen can actually break from putting a tampon in.

The short answer is you can not hide penetration. That leaves minute scratches and breaks the hymen and so forth. Now if that was caused by sexual activity that is beyond your own use of a sexual aid is not going to be known.

You can request that the doctor keep this aspect of your life private depending on your age he may opt to do so.

It will be "assumed" if your mother thinks you are sexually active that the broken hymen and abrasions are from a guy rather than anything else.

I would at least have a frank discussion with the doctor and let them know you are sexually active. If the doctor thinks you are responsible they will likely just not tell her.

Ok folks HIPPA or the Health Care Information Personal Privacy Act does NOT prevent doctors from discussing the health situations to parents about their children. Do not assume that a mother can not gain access to medical records. It depends on the view of the doctor and local guidelines.

Oh stop it Please!!!
My 9yo cousins hymen broke when she fell on her arss while bike riding Scared the hell out of me I thought she was bleeding to death. The Dr has no way of knowing HOW unless semen is dripping. He may ask you, but be dumb. Is the area healed? Use a mirror and LOOK. A raw open wound will cause questions, again be dumb. Most everyone masturbates at some point. As a parent your mom is off base to accuse you of having sex to the point of the Dr's visit. That usually infers SHE was promiscuous as a youth.
But I don't trust you are telling us the truth either.
You know you might turn it around. Tell the Dr you mom is off base for the check up and making you afraid.

This is not something you should hide. If they were to notice something when you get a pelvic and you lie about having sex, then you could get misdiagnosed and mistreated.
The doctor asks about your sexual activity only to evaluate what they're seeing on the cervix, not to get you busted.
They have to adhere to a patient-doctor confidentiality agreement, which means if they were to tell your parents anything without your consent, they would be in big trouble if you chose to take action.
As for hiding it from your parents---just how old are you? And if you can't even speak openly to your mom but are having sex--that's a huge red flag. Women associate sex with love and if you're at odds with your mom, then you may be looking for love and getting it in the wrong way.

IGNORE ALL THE OTHER ANSWERS THAT SAY YOU'RE SCREWED

Simply put, there is NO scientific way a doctor can "CONCLUDE" that you are not a virgin.

A person's hymen can break through various methods. Such as masturbating, trauma, tampons, etc.

Unless your doctor finds some traces of sperm or seminal fluid inside you, they cannot say that you're not a virgin anymore just from your hymen.

This is a FACT.

Any doctor that claims otherwise that you're not a virgin anymore from simply your hymen is downright wrong, as this is not supported by scientific evidence.

I don't think your hymen breaks from masturbating. And I would be more embarrassed to admit to that then to admit to having sex. You know, I felt exactly like you do right now when I was in highschool and I was having sex. I never told my mom and I ended up getting pregnant and having an abortion. Then my mom felt terrible that I was never able to go to her and talk to her about sex when I started. My advice....go for it and tell her. The tension only lasts for a little bit. She's your mom and she'll still love you. Besides, I doubt she was an angel when she was your age.

I'm sorry, but the only thing you can do is to, during the check-up, ask your mom to leave. Talk to your doctor. Legally you and the doctor have a unspoken confidentiality agreement. He can't tell your mom anything about your vagina or hymen, unless you do it. So technically your not a virgin. Lucky you, and you didn't get an STD or get pregnant.

There is no test that anyone can give to determine whether or not you are a virgin.

As for the broken hymen, there are many ways in which girls break them that do not involve sex.

your hymen can break for many reasons...it can happen while you are riding a bike, playing sports, whatever. When you go to they gyno, they don't check for that anyways...and probably for that exact reason. just because it is broken doesn't mean you have had sex...so just keep it a secret and no one will ever know.

You don't have to have your mother in the exam room with you, and there is something called doctor/patient confidentiality. If you don't want the doctor to tell your mother, legally he/she can't. At least this is what I've heard (I worked at a hospital for a while and this was one of the big things they try to stress). Good luck!
