I would leave your 60g right where it is (unless you want to get down and dirty with data transfers).. you simply connect your new IN-ternal (INside the computer) to the second slot on the same ribbon cable as your 60g.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Make sure you set the "jumpers" correctly. on the back of the drive there are usually 4 pins and a little piece of plastic called a jumper. One drive (your 60g) has to be "master" and your new 250gb has to be "slave".. You can probably maybe skip this step and not have a problem.. But if you connect the drive and get an error like "OS NOT DETECTED" or "CANNOT BOOT" then you have to do the jumper thing.

Also make sure you get the same type of drive or one that your computer supports (IDE vs SATA) most newer drives are SATA but if you buy an SATA drive you might not be able to use it. IDE is a safe bet but not as fast.

most cases will take two HDD at the same time so, have the 60gb with OS on it be the Primary drive and just have the 200GB as extra space, i do. It can all be done in about 10mins, easier then reinstalling the OS and drivers.

all you want is go get that hard and plug it into ur computer and leave the 60GB as it is, but you have to make sure you 200GB hard is a slave , in this way u dont need to re-install windows

Assuming the 60gb harddrive is internal, you would probably be better buying an external one. The normally connect through the USB port, making it easy to cnnect, and they can run along with your original Hard drive.

nope. you will just install the new drive as a slave. dont have to reinstall windows.

Though double check your BIOS to make sure it can handel a drive of that size. If you bios is outdated, it might only be able to read 1/2 of the drive capacity.

I assume the 60 gig has the OS (windows xp or whatever os your running). That should be your C: drive.
When you install the 200 gig you just need to jumper it to SLAVE and the 60 gig should be set to MASTER.
Then you just need to format it and your good to go.
