I got N in the chemistry 101 in university. I tried and i got 80 % in class portion, but failed the lab portion with 47.5%. I handed in one assignment late and i missed two assignment. And that's the reason. I explain to the teacher i have been having anxiety disorder and not able to breath well sometimes. But they just say better luck next time. I got 80% in class and just failed lab by 2 % i feel so disapointed about this, and i dont want to make my parents feel disapointed. What should I tell my parents? I am so down, what should I do now, i can only take this class twice a year and this slow down my schedule so much. Why wouldn't the teacher just let me pass. What can i do next I dont want to repeat this kind of stupid things. What should I tell my parents? What can i do better for my future? How do i succeed in University?

Perhaps take the class at a University that offers instruction in your native tounge. English obviously isn't your forte`.

since its only chemistry 101, which is an intro course, try taking it from a local community college if you can. Most schools will allow transfer credits for intro classes completed at community colleges. I've seen a ton of students from good schools go home and take classes at a community college while they worked over the summer to get some extra credits. Most likely it will be easier for you to take the class there too than at your school. I suggest you give this a try and next time tell your professor your situation the very first day so they know what is going on. Communication is key and professors get a lot of bad excuses. Make sure next time that you don't spring this on them at the last minute.

You gotta get it together man. I hate to hear about young people suffering but at the same time, it's time to grow up and win one for the gipper. If you have a physical problem, that's a seperate issue I can't help with. You can't hand things in late and miss class, and from what you typed, that's the only reason for this problem. It's not fair to other students for the teacher to just let you pass. If you have to tell your parents (which I have never understood, and I wish parents would stop being so hovering over college students) then just tell them the truth.

Well, for one thing, go to lab. I teach university physics labs, and pretty much the only way to fail is to not show up. We don't accept many excuses for missing labs, since they are such a pain to make up and we don't get paid to make them up. If you want to pass chem lab, get over the anxiety if that's really what made you miss it. We won't 'just let you pass' if you don't do the work - or can't do the work. It's not high school anymore; the profs and TAs get paid whether you pass or not, and it's hard to care about every one of the 200+ students you have. If you're not up to the work, maybe chem isn't for you. If you think you can pass it, try again - and go to lab this time.

University success is based on mimicking the college professor. Whatever, the professor says is right. Right down the professor's opinions, and when it comes to test time, write down the professor's opinions on the test. You are guaranteed to get no lower than a 85% or a B. Don't be original, just copy the professors thoughts.

r u registered with disability services. if you have a medical diagnosis documented by a doctor that prevents you from learning like the other students the prof. HAVE to work with you..it's a law..it doesn't mean they have to move your grade up but they have to give you special testing, special tutoring or whatever...Most prof. could care less if your house burns down, all your family dies, you get maimed and you have to live on the street in -40 degree weather..they still get paid. I have had many prof. like that...Check this out and for goodness sake do your assignments and turn them in ON TIME...they will work with you a lot better if they think you are trying but if you don't turn in your work..they think you don't care
