My grandma bougt everyone socks and underwear. If you were a man in our family you owned gray tube socks.
I still buy socks and undewear for my kids for Christmas in memory of my grandma.

My sister's mother in law is notorious for this. One year she gave my twin nephews:
A Reader's Digest
Empty Pill bottles
A Sherlock Holmes book
A few tealight candles
A half eaten bag of chips
They were only 2 years old at the time :)

I am famous for my gifts!! LOL!! I love to make home made things and gag gifts. One year I didn't and they were all disappointed because they expect me to be different and korny!!! It truly isn't what or how much you pay for a gift, it is the thought behind. Cherish all those unusable things...those will be memories you will have for eternity.
Merry Merry Christmas and to all a good night! =]

Hi :-)
My Mum used to buy lots of junk at Christmas. She based it all on volume, rather than quality. It all seemed a little embarrassing at the time... Now I laugh and I love her for it. It was all about loving and giving.... she was very special also, just like your Nan.
I wish that she was still alive this Christmas

my nan always got us either something from a carboot sale or something she won at bingo then slips us a tenner. but she has had a stroke this year and it wont feel right without the cheap glasses or used lipstick. I suppose tradition is what makes your xmas different to every one elses, what makes it special.

we always had at least one gag gift per person every Christmas and no one knew who it was that was doing it. until one year we figured out it was a friend who was playing the gag with dad because after dad died the gifts stopped.
