I agree with HKC .. practice won't make them any more comfortable! The longer you wear them, the more they will hurt, so just try to wear them for as little as possible. I wear flip-flops to the place usually and then change into heels just as I get there.

a couple things.... there are those gel pads that you can put in your shoes, or for a more "drastic" approach, they have a technique now where they will shoot silicone in the balls of your feet, it last for a few months, and it will cushion your feet and heels will be pain free. But, if the shoes are new, you may just need to wear them in.

Suck it up. Beauty/fashion before comfort.
On a lighter note - get to know your shoes. Know which ones are 'sitting down and looking pretty shoes' and which ones are 'dancing shoes' and plan accordingly.
Also - names are definitely better for shoes. They may look the same as cheep ones but more expensive shoes with a reputable name attached to them are made better. Wait for a sale and get good ones rather than bad ones that you won't like wearing.
Shopping is half the fun with shoes anyway.

nope. i'm an avid high heel wearer. nothing to do. if they are new, you can wear them around the house to stretch them out a bit. are they too small? some of the discomfort is due to the shortening of the calf muscles when you remain with your foot plantarflexed in a high heel. it forces all of your weight through the ball of your foot. if you know physics, the force multiplies significantly when you decrease the area by which it is applied. i can also only suggest you kind of slip them off when you sit down...preferably under a table where no one sees. this saves the amount of time you are teetering in them. good luck girl.

Get really drunk that usually does the trick.hehe. otherwise you may need to break them in I had a pair of shoes that gave me the same problem only these were un walkable but after wearing them a few times they have softened and feel fine now. They will never be completely comfortable though, sorry! x

You do realise wearing heels is damaging yourself?? It changes the shape of your spine and give you back pain.. it goes on and on.. the most you should wear heels AT LEAST at max for an hour. for special occasions.. Why are you wearing them? to make yourself pretty? Taller? what is it? you dont have to be taller because if your taller than a guy its so not cool to dance with them, im a really tall person and its not cool trust me.. and heels arent the only thing thats pretty!! get some flats.. there are some really hot ones around these days.. to sum it up DONT WEAR HEELS!!!

If they're not too hard to take off then put back on, I'd just slip them off for a little while every now and then, like when you're sitting at a table so that no one'll notice.

Buy one size bigger, wear thick and I mean thick socks, double up if you have to, party feet coushions and a good insole, only works with boots in winter but it helps a lot.

ummm.. you probably don't want to hear this.. stop wearing heels. i've been told by my doc that heels only cause more and more pain, and mess our feet up. no reason to wear something that just causes pain, no matter how sexy those heels might look on you. it's really not worth it.
