Research has shown that YES a child could be affected by a father who smokes.
It can affect the fathers sperm thus affect your child. The affects could include behaviour issues, and cognitive disorders.

I've done some research on this, and yes, if a father smokes ciggerettes, uses drugs, or drinks alcohol it could effect the quality of his sperm and result in genetic defects, miscarriage, and increases the risk of sids. Chances are your baby will be fine, next time around tell him to quit smoking a few months before concieving. Good for you for not giving in to the pressures of doing drugs.

Gotta love how people who know nothing about the subject pretend to, or worse, group everything together i.e. "all of the above will cause problems" as if they are the same.

There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE that marijuana causes ANY problems for pregnancies. None, zero, zilch. Fact. MJ can temporarily and very slightly lower male sperm counts, but that has nothing to do with male fertility or developmental problems.

I don't enourage you to smoke MJ during pregnancy, but no, it has been conclusively been proven NOT to cause problems.

No, you're just lucky you even got pregnant because it affects the quality of the sperm. If he doesn't quit before the baby comes, at least have him smoke in the garage. Good luck.
