Yes, nothing is free, not even freedom because we all have to pay taxes.

I think you have a good point but somethings that are free are the best as long as they are not material things. The air is free to breathe, and water is free to drink (up to debate on this one), walking is free. Thing like this. Then the best things in life is free. Working for something to make you free is also good.. maybe not the best but good.

You have set up a logical problem. I must challenge the premise that life is not free. Portions of what makes life pleasant are indeed free. Do you have to pay to become a Christian and have the promise of eternal life? NO. Are people paid to love others sincerely? NO. Must we pay to see the beauty of nature? NOT necessarily. Do we have to have money to thrive in life? yes, but please don't get caught up in thinking that money "makes the world go around."

I don't know why food is the best thing in life for you but the best things in life are free because they are priceless and a value can't be put on it like love, happiness etc.

No one can not live for free. However the best things in life are free, God, Faith, Love, Friendship, Respect. Those are some of the best things in life. And they are free. God bless****

You can't eat money. If the best things in life are possessions, ownership, and physical stimulation we're all in trouble. To me these are all things that can be lost as quickly as gained. the best things in life will last, hopefully, long after this life is done.

I always thought that saying was relating to love and sex. Anyone can find love and have sex. And those are two of the best things in life, so I would say the best things in life are free.
ps: and also friendship.

You'd starve without money because you're ignorant of the methods one can use to eat without cash.
Our distant ancestors foraged and hunted for their food. They were educated about the environment and which foods would sustain their lives.
You're also forgetting "freegans", lol, people who eat what others throw away, thereby avoiding payment for food (and anything else they can find).
Therefore, I disagree.
