I am creating a "pop-umentary" on 1987 and would like to hear from all on what made this a special year.

ummm...it was a really bad crop year... umm...we were still paying off our trip to Expo 86... I had a really bad "mullet" hair cut... skinny jeans and high heels was still the fashion here...

I was 20 and could drink! The legal drinking age changed one year after I was 19, so I was "grandfathered" in. The most awesome production car was produced the Buick Grand National. People know and appreciate U2. And, I think "Married With Children" came out - one of the best sitcoms ever! Man, it was 20 years ago - reigned by Reagan, then by Bush - try not to remember!

I remember the Iran-Contra Affair going on, I think everyone that was in the military or a dependent was watching that. Musically i was into the Joshua Tree album by U2. And who can forget Jessica Hahn and Jim Bakker. I think that story was on everything too, and that pulled everyone away from the Iran-Contra Atffair.

For me in 1987. I was working my first job after earning a degree in computers. My first son was born in December. Life was new for me and I was young.

I remember this was the year Supergirl was first televised on British telly. I thought Helen Slater did an ok role.
