Is MDF sealant the same as an acrylic Primer/Undercoat?

I am thinking of painting MDF and need to know the best undercoat and whether a sealant is the same as an undercoat.

Any primer will work I would recomend zinnser bullsyeye MDF is just cardboard basically kinda like drywall paper latex paint is a good bet if high penatration is desired try oil based paint 2-3 coats ot to do it.

NO, this is generally manufactured thinner so it goes directly onto bare sheet rock as a low density quick dry primer .Other primers are for different purposes.
