Could just be hormones out of whack. Make an appt. w/ your doctor. If you aren't on the pill you'll probably start taking it for the hormone that it's it to help regulate your cycle. Or if you are having other symptoms she may have you take another type of med. again, to help with your hormones. I've had this problem too. I ended up taking something to get my hormones back in check. And I have also taken the BC pill for a few months to get back on track.
