Break her neck! It is kinda what is in the back of someone observing a rollerderby. If something went horribly wrong . . . the outcome would likely be a broken neck. Therefore, in your crime novel you should have her neck broken - but of course - not while rollerderbing. Good luck in your writing.

Have somebody tamper with her skates so that her wheels come off just as she is hitting her top speed so that the metal axles on her skates make sparks that ignites the lighter fluid that was spilled on the track by a sinister track attendant just before the race started. She will burst into flames because her derby uniform will also have been treated by a flammable chemical by a mysterious person who had access to her locker (or wardrobe room or whatever.)

An old Rollerderby Queen that doesn't want her Rollerderby Records broken, puts on her skates and kills the young one in a remote spot near a bridge. Like the Brooklyn Bridge or something. Then after she kills her, the old one hangs her skates on the bridge for everyone to see, and know she's still the Queen.

She gets into a major fight at the rollerderby event and the whole team gets into it... she winds up on the bottom of the stack.. as the fight breaks up, shes laying on the floor motionless... the EMTs come to get her off the floor and treat her for injuries when they discover (dramatic music please) that shes dead. All appearances seem to look like she was brtualized to death by her long term rival and bitter enemy on the opposing team but the plot thickens, there seems to a very small dart in her backside, a small custom made poision dart. it appears as if there was an unhappy fan at the game, so unhappy that apparently they wanted our star OUT of the picture....

It would be cool if she was sniped by someone while participating in a rollerderby contest, and there seems to be no motive for the killing. I know it is a cliche way of dieing but why not.

I think you should go the "Million Dollar Baby" route. She gets in a fight with the Roller Derby tough girl, who accidentally snaps her neck. While paralyzed, her loving manager sneaks her out of the hospital in his arms, and into his car where he attaches a hose to his tail pipe and offs them both.

Or she could just shoot herself.

Perhaps some hated enemy from the past plays around with her skates until one of the wheels nearly comes loose? Just a suggestion. :D

When your character starts to rollerblade in her competition have someone run into her and she isn't wearing a helmet. She falls to the ground splits her head open. someone calls E.R. and when they get there they put her on life support. they get her to the hospital and she then dies while on life support.
