Christmas and birthdays are two different things, and I think they should be celebrated. I have several friends that birthdays that are on or near Christmas. They get both a Christmas gift and a birthday gift. And I don't wrap their birthday gift in Christmas wrap. If one of my kids had been born on Christmas, they would have a birthday just like the other.

My son was born the end of November, and you wouldn't believe the people and family say "well, it's so close to Christmas, I am just going to get him a little something for his birthday and then I will get him something nice for Christmas" I do for his birthday just I do my daughter who was born in summer. It's not his fault that Christmas is around the corner.

I am sorry, but it drives me nuts. One friend didn't anything for his birthday because he was born on Christmas day. But all the rest of the family got their birthday's celebrated. That's not right. They didn't even get him a little extra gift. They completely ignored the fact other than say "well, there your Christmas and it's for your birthday too." I make sure I do something extra for him every year.

Thank you for the question, and I certainly hope and pray that people who are blessed with a child on Christmas, remembers that it's the child's special day too.

God bless us all............

You should get them a gift that you would have bought them if their birthday was on any other day of the year. AND buy them a Christmas gift.

My dad's bday is Dec 24th -- and we celebrate each separately... AND he gets gifts for each occasion... with a non-christmas decorated cake. I will usually separate the two holidays by getting more fun things for the birthday, and the usual fun and special items for Xmas.

Just because a person is born on a holiday doesn't mean it's any less significant. How would the people combining the day feel if, when celebrating THEIR birthday, someone doesn't get them a birthday gift and was told, "O, you're Christmas gift will be a combo b-day/xmas gift"

Here's how it works. Get them the same thing you would have got them if their birthday was August 15th. Then get them a Christmas present. People born on the 24th and 25th of December often get either 1 gift to cover both or two cheap gifts since they get two presents. Treat their birthday as a celebration of their own then worry about Christmas

you're able to need to get them a cutting-side that you're able to have presented them if their birthday grow to be on the diverse day of the 12 months. and purchase them a Christmas present day. My dad's bday is Dec 24th -- and we celebrate each one after the other... AND he receives resources for each social gathering... with a non-christmas decorated cake. i'll many times separate both holiday journeys through potential of having more beneficial relaxing themes for the birthday, and the widely used relaxing and certain products for xmas. basically utilising actuality a guy or woman is born on a visit would not advise it quite is any a lot less important. How ought to the persons combining the day journey if, at the same time as celebrating THEIR birthday, someone would not get them a birthday present day and grow to be cautioned, "O, you're Christmas present day can be a mix b-day/xmas present day"

You get them a normal birthday present wrapped in birthday wrapping paper with a birthday card. No red or green! A separate Christmas present that is Christmasy would be nice also if it is someone you would normally exchange gifts with.

Their cake would be decorated like a christmas tree and look like it and in red it would say happy birthday/ merry christmas. Or get them an extra gift one says merrry christmas other happy birthday.

well my dad's birthday is christmas, and he'll get both a birthday gift and a christmas gift. i can't tell you specifically what to give, but just make sure either or both gifts (depending on which route, you take) are thoughtful.

I HAVE A GREAT-NIECE AND A GRANDFATHER WHO WERE BORN ON CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY BOTH HATE IT. SO FOR THE BIRTHDAY END YOU HAVE TO CELEBRATE WITH ONLY THINGS PERTAINING TO BIRTHDAY. IT IS CELEBRATED IN A RESTAURANT OR A ROOM THAT HAS VERY FEW CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. AND YOU CAN'T HOLD BACK PRESENTS OR SPLIT THE COST. IT IS TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.

I wouldn't be cheap and get them double the amount of gifts, unlike people who say "this one present counts for both christmas and your birthday" I would get him what ever he asked me for or what was on his list.
