Hello! I have a question....I went ot the OB today. She said that I am 2 CM dialated and 70% effaced. Could labor be soon?

I am 39 weeks pregnant with my second child and have already lost my mucus plug.

Well, I'm 38 weeks and I'm 2cm and who knows how long I've been 2 cm though, because the first time they checked my cervix was 36 weeks and I was 2 cm then...I could have been 2cm weeks before! So...it really depends on the baby.
Labor could be within a day, or it could be weeks still! (not sure how far along you are??) Some women stay 1 cm or 2 cm dilated for a while, and then all of a sudden labor will kick in and you are 10 cm in no time!
All I can say is walk, have sex if it's not uncomfortable anymore, and don't try all those nasty things like Castor oil...it'll just make you sick!
I know how you feel, I feel like I've been pregnant forever! Good luck and congrats! We're almost done :)

I would roll the dice on decently soon. Being 2cm isn't that big of a deal but being 70% effaced is a good sign. Did you have any problem going into labor with your 1st child? If not I wouldn't make traveling plans...

It's hard to say. Knowing how dialated/effaced you are is interesting, but not very predictive of when labor will start. Walk a lot, eat spicy foods, have sex with your husband and I bet you will be off to the races before you know it. Good luck and congrats!

yeah and no I was 2 cm dialaated and 70% effaced for 3 months with my first pregnancy it all depends on how far along you are and your body that baby will come when its good and ready lol but when i was close enough to my due date my doctor suggested sex it wont hurt the baby but it might help get you into labor good luck

Not exactly .. I was 2 centimeters at 7 months .. I was put on bedrest .. Are you full term? This could be within 2 weeks. Watch for the mucus plug to fall out !

my best friend was 4 cm dialated for weeks before she actually went into labor. i think it all depends on your body, and whether the baby is ready to come out.
