Indonesia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, the 3 largest Muslim countries on earth, all have democratically ELECTED female Prime Ministers/President/head-of-the-government in the recent past. The question then arises - Are the Muslim women better than the US women ? Or are US women discriminated against ?

2008 - Hillary will take the place. However, we are not a Muslim country and we'll fight to keep a man in the office! -)

There are several issues preventing the United States from having (as of yet) elected a female President. The first is that as women have not been able to be seriously involved in politics for very long (only the last three decades or so), there are far fewer women with the correct political qualifications. The second is that--no matter what some others here may have said--there IS still discrimination against women in the United States (though not nearly as badly as in most of the Muslim nations, or many other nations)--especially in politics. Many people (wrongly) hesitate, for instance, to vote for a female candidate with young children, while having no qualms about voting for a male candidate with young children. Also, many people (including the news) focus too much on a female candidate's appearence, and judge her by how she looks, not what her stances on the issues and political experience are. This needs to be remedied--the news needs to start giving female candidates more coverage concerning issues and positions, and less concerning family life and fashion sense. Finally, some people still have the outdated idea that a "woman's place is in the house". This is wrong, outdated, and discriminatory--and I predict that as the younger generation grows older and begins to comprise the majority of voters, you will see fewer and fewer voters with that additude, and more and more qualified women able to run--and it is at that point that this country will be able to finally elect a female President, proving once and for all that a woman's place is indeed in the house...the White House, that is. :) ;)

The last thing I want is to see the United States be like any Muslim nation. We are doing fine just the way we are, electing married white males.
England had a woman elected leader, Margaret Thatcher, who is a Christian. The leader of Germany is a woman.

Only Margaret Thatcher proved herself to be any good as a female leader of a country. Benazir Bhutto still had to wear a rag on her head in public.

I think you have your head up your butt if you think women in the US are discriminated against. It is muslim women who bear the brunt of discrimination. And it is the religion that is the problem.

you're precise. In an interview in Jerusalem Obama in basic terms stated “u . s . of america is without doubt certainly one of the biggest Muslim countries interior the worldwide” - WHAT - Are you kidding me - this guy is obviously uncontrolled and now that he's president he doesn’t care what suggestion is leaked and released approximately his previous - approximately his Muslim history, upbringing and ideology. Obama precise now appears like he can do, say and believe something he needs and could stress those ideals on the yankee taxpayer - except we upward push up mutually and end this tyrant. Obama needs u . s . of america long gone and a sparkling extra eu, nanny state to interchange it. in reality, the alternative of what Obama says is genuine - u . s . of america is extremely interior the right 40 Muslim countries - so his fact is yet another blatant lie - that mockingly could be genuinely checked and debunked - so why he might make this lie? - Is he pathological? for sure he's in basic terms asserting those issues to appease the Muslim human beings. word Obama will say something he has to - looking on who's listening to him and who he's attempting to persuade. o_O

Well I think that's about to change, because Senator Hillary
Clinton announced this week that she was running for president in 2008. If she don't win that means that women are discriminated.
