Ashley, I'd recommend rolling it up and putting it inside a clean Pringle's Chip container. They are round and easy to wrap, and no one will know what the gift is. And, to really make them wonder what it is, put a small bell or a smooth pebble in the can with the potholder prior to gift wrapping it. That'll make the person who you are giving the potholder really wonder what the gift actually it. :D

My grandmother use to give gifts in strange boxes... like a box from crackers, the box from tin foil and she would not wrap the gift. It was pretty fun to try an figure out what you were getting. The pringle can is a good idea just put some tissue at the top and put the lid on and give... it will keep them wondering.

I save odd boxes throughout the year, just for things like this. One year I used a box that was for Christmas lights. I had to tell the person to open the box, because they really thought they were getting lights.

Put it in a jar & wrap it up, or put it inside a zip lock bag, blow the bag full of air, zip it shut & tape it so it can't pop open if its squeezed, and then wrap it.

roll it up tightly, wrap it with excess paper at both ends, tie off the ends and fringe them so it looks like a Christmas cracker!
