I am concerned in general about the e-coli scares. What kind of regulations and policies and actions do they have for these farms in CA?

It's not poised it's just some sick people don't wash they're hands. When they send the food out the germs in the hand get all over your which you eat. Did you know that there's more germs in a hand shake than a kiss? Hope this help you somehow and some Taco Bells are being shut down already.

It isn't Taco Bell's fault it's the distributer. The reason vegetables like spinach and green onions are contaminated is, they grow on the ground. This ground is sometimes fertilized with manure. With current livestock farming practices, disease is rampant in all animal products. If you want to be safe ya gotta go vegan and organic. Always wash your produce too.

I am not sure you can blame the chain?? People who work in these fast food outlets are not always overly paid, sometimes very young, and that combination causes them to be less concerned about cleanliness of their hands, etc. than they should be. It doesn't take much to get a real e-coli spread going in such a premise.

I don't care. I just got done eating Taco Bell. They aren't using the green onions (that were only on stuff like nachoes anyway), so I wouldn't worry.

I thought is was odd that people got sick not from the meat at Taco Bell but from the vegetables (in this case, onions)

You absolutely shouldn't eat at taco bell. You shouldn't take that big of a risk for a taco...and it's not even truly a taco.

I don't think it really matters. There are ecoli scares all the time and you can never be sure about meat no matter what restaurant you go to.

Its really scary! My five year old likes to eat Burrito Supremes, but it looks like its not worth eating out anymore. I often see posts from people who refer to them spitting in peoples food. Its just sick. :(
