I want a job in cosmetics. I live in Central Florida. Where would be a good place to start? I don't have any training except what I do everyday for myself. Help!

Go to Macy's and apply as a Make up consultant at one of those brands there like Chanel, MAC, Estte Lauder, Clinique, Lancome, and some others...
Apply at Sephora too!
I hope it was helpful and good luck!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Try applying at your local drug store that has a make-up department. That is always a good place to start as they deal with many different brands of cosmetics. You will also get to meet quite of few different cosmetics sales reps. which could also be a great stepping stone for you. They also have a fairly high turn-over of staff so it shouldn't be too hard to get a position there. Even if they are not hiring right at this moment apply for a different position within the store, but make sure they know that you main goal is to work within the cosmetics department. That is how I started out :)

Try a cosmetics counter in your local department store. Steer clear of MAC Cosmetics. They wont train you on make up. They want you to know your s***. Also they are very demanding in your daily quota of sales. Most other counters will train you in cosmetics. Just ask when you go to apply. Good Luck.

Audition for MAC. maybe at your local mall. If they don't like your makeup style, they'll hire you as a counter girl and you can then learn their technique. There is a misconception MAc wants you to have the technical skills like choosing the correct foundation for a client and such but they will train you in their techniques if you want them to. They are rigid but how else do you expect to get good. They are one of the best companies out there. Also try Clinque although their makeup looks really bad on me. Philosophy, Sephora. basically any makeup counter in your local mall.

Do you know of anyone involved in Mary Kay. They are a solid organization with good support. Contact them online or seek them out. You can at least learn about cosmetics through them.
