You have extremely dry skin, use a deep moisturizer and that should help. The powder is drying your skin more and that's why it's peeling. Try moisturizing foundation as well. Good Luck

Mine does too!

This is what I finally figured out after a LOT of trial and error.

I have to use moisturizer on my nose every day. Get one that's for dry skin.

You could also exfoliate when you do your normal facial care ... washing it or whatever. It doesn't add much time to the routine and it helps a lot when you concentrate on the areas that are flaking. You probably have sensitive skin like I do (at least on your nose) and should avoid harsh products. To make it as gentle as possible, I just mix a tiny bit of salt or sugar in some olive oil.

I use that sugar or salt scrub to rub my nose gently. Then I wash as usual (I really like Aveeno face cleansers) and pat dry, then apply the moisturizer.

After that's done you can try wearing makeup as you've been doing. That worked for me for a while. But then it started flaking again, so ... you might want to skip straight to this step. I don't wear foundation except when I really need it. Normally I use a little concealer wherever I need it and dab just a tiny bit on the nose to cover the blotchiness (I have that too). Make sure you blend it well. Over that I just wear loose powder. Mineral powders are healthier for your skin and I find they improve it a lot. When I tried this I found out I don't actually NEED foundation.

I also get the same effect between my eyebrows; do you? If so I do the same thing there and it helps a LOT as well.

You can find a moisturizer with sunscreen in it; most are like SPF 15. Get that if you can. Exposure to the sun makes the flaking much worse ... so if you're moisturizing anyway, you might as well add the extra protection. I think of it as insurance.

I hope that helps! As for why it happens I have NO idea. I've seen two dermatologists and all they can say is that my skin is sensitive in those areas, and it's being irritated. Nobody knows by what. But now that I've been doing this for a few months my nose, and the area between my eyebrows, look a lot better even when I'm not wearing makeup. So I guess it was a combination of needing moisturizer, and being irritated by either the makeup or the sun's rays.

First you should use something like a Microdermabrasion 2-3 times a week to remove any dead, dull looking skin from your face. Never use it 2 days in a row though because it is so abrasive to the skin. Then rather than using a foundation you could use a tinted moisturizer instead, or a foundation that is made for your skin type. Mary Kay sells all 3 if you want to check them out visit my website.

u need to exfoliate and moisturize

also, u NEED to get a winter foundation/powder, different texture than ur normal summer one. this is cuz winter is much more drying.. u would do better w/ a liquidy/creamy type during this time of year... and Concealer would probably work too. i notice nowadays that when i wear my foundation/powder my skin is so dry it looks Gross!!! and i normally have extremely oily skin. so i have to really wet the sponge and put a thin layer on, as well as depend more on concealer for coverage.

for a home remedy exfoliating mask once or twice a month: get a bottle of uncoated aspirin @ wal mart (0.97 cents!) . take 4-5 tablets, drop some drops of water on top to soften. add either Cetaphil cleanser OR honey. mix and rub onto face gently (make sure u don't get it near the eyes!) leave on for at least 30 min, i usually do way longer.... rinse off w/ warm water and cleanser. MOISTURIZE. u may need lotion for combination skin.

also, what i do Nightly is spread a thin layer of honey on my face (of course u have to sleep on ur back, try not to move around it gets sticky! put a towel on ur pillow). honey is a natural anti bacterial, and it also seems to moisturize skin for me anyways.

good luck~

sounds like dry skin. it can happen anywhere on the face as well as the body. try applying a little fragrance free moisturizer with SPF to your face, especially your nose, wait five minutes, just to let the moisturizer sink in, and apply your foundation and powder. if you're nose is still peeling after doing this for a week, you might consider trying a foundation geared toward dry skin. and always try to choose one which is fragrance free. and maybe consider getting an at home micro-dermabrasion kit to exfoliate the dead skin on your face. and at night, always use a good moisturizer before you go to bed. one more thing, remember to use fragrance free products whenever possible.
Best Wishes

Probably because it's winter. Try to exfoliate gently with a washcloth and then put on nivea lotion. It's really thick and rich. Your foundation is coming off because your skin is peeling. You need to moisturize. Give this a try, I have this problem too and the 99 cent tin of Nivea is improving my looks like crazy lol.

Yeah I've noticed that too. And I changed my foundation. Now I use Covergirl Outlast liquid foundation. It has two parts. The first step is the moisturizer and then the second step is foundation. It makes my face look smooth and it lasts all day. It makes my nose look very very smooth and I love it. It only costs about $9. Try it I love it!! =)

You should use a moisturized to keep your skin healthy and fresh looking. I use Olay Daily Moisturizer with SPF15. It keeps my face hydrated and prevents flaking and/or peeling. I would avoid using foundation/pressed powder unless you need it, its better for your skin.

unfastened powder and pressed powder are the comparable product, purely in diverse varieties. in case you have been to take a pressed powder and grind it up, it would be a unfastened powder. the biggest distinction is the product's portability. unfastened powder is a completely mess in case you have been to easily throw it on your bag and attempt to apply it later. maximum unfastened powders have a sifter on appropriate so which you do no longer p.c.. up too a lot product, yet while that field is rolling around on your handbag all of it falls interior the path of the sifter and once you open it up *POOF* mess... a extreme-high quality little pressed powder can roll around on your handbag and stay in tact. once you're into Clinique, stick to Clinique because of the fact it relatively is working properly including your epidermis (me and Clinique do purely no longer go mutually lol). they have a pair categories to elect from counting on the end you like and the insurance you elect. stable luck!

Are you allergic to fish, shellfish, or iodine?
Many cosmetics are made with crushed and grinded fish scales, which can send some people into anafolactic(sp?) shock, or have their skin get all blotchy and peel.

Answer: Use hypoallergenic products. They cost more, but they are better for your skin. Plus, you won't get clogged pores from it, which could help to prevent pimples.
