Sometimes I do and then I feel like I have just confused them.

I have a tendency to do this, only because I don't want someone to misunderstand what I'm trying to say. I don't want someone to assume things, and get it all wrong. I used to feel bad about it; however, now I don't feel bad because that is who I am, and if they don't like it, that's fine...it's their issue, not mine. It's not neccessarily a bad thing, in my opinion.
You sort of asked two different questions here, saying too much could mean sticking your foot in your mouth vs. over-explaining, which means something entirely different, so I answered what suits me best. :)

Sometimes but other times the person is just really NOT getting the point. Like some of the muppets who answer some of the questions. I try to stick to the point and make my point but I get pissed off when they still don't get it!

I seem to either over-explain or under-explain. Can't quite find the middle ground there.

Good one! There are times when I really do stick my foot in it and in retrospect I really wish I had not gone there but what can you do? What's done is done and all you can do is try to make up for it and learn from your mistake.

Yes, alot of times, when I wish I could just keep my big mouth shut, but am very outspoken and say what is on my mind. :)

All the time, hell with my big mouth I surprise myself with what comes out of it- then again, I'm always blunt.

Yes, a couple times.
And for overexplaining it, they really didn't believe me.
I really need to learn to keep my mouth shut.
