I've heard that some people can go to their 12week scan and find that their baby stopped growing at 8 weeks, and they didn't know anything about it. I don't know what this is called or how rare it is, but are there no signs whatsoever?

I had a scan yesterday and they couldn't find anything at all on the scan, only a thickened uterus which shows pregnancy signs. They did another pregnancy test, and it was a very feint line....my first test which I'd done 5 days earlier was also feint, but surely it would be darker by now because of all the hormones??

The reasons they gave was that their machine doesn't pick anything under 5weeks up, so she thinks I'm very early, only about 3 weeks, which is why the test had a feint line too.

Do you believe this is likely to be true? As I'm now convinced that the baby isn't growing properly, which is why the hormones aren't developing as they should. By my own dates I'm 4+3.

I don't know what 4+3 means, but that's what happened to me at my first ultrasound. I had to have one early because of a previous ectopic pregnancy. My home pregnancy tests were very faint too, and the first scan all they could see was a thickening of the uterus because I was so early like 4wks I think??? That just sounds like you went in too soon, be patient I'm sure everything's fine!! Why didn't they give you a blood test? Those are ALOT more accurate than urine tests, ask for one of those. Congratulations and Good Luck!

Well when I had my first ultrasound at 3-4 weeks they could barely see anything. It looked like a dot. and they had to do a vaginal scope to see her then. They may need to do that. Dont get too worried yet, because babies are very hard to see in the first two months of pregnancy. you should start worrying if you can feel anything or your stomach doesnt grow to the size it should be. Either way you should talk to your doctor or do research on different ultrasounds to see your baby if your that scared

i think at around 4/5 weeks its too early to see anything on the ultra sound, take a test again in about a week, my preg tests didnt show up as possitive untill i was around 2 months! good luck

the condition you are referring to i think is called a blighted ovum, whereby on a scan the sac can be seen but no baby because it has stopped developing.

there are support groups on the internet that will give lots of support and advice and i can give details of this later if you need it.

but it sounds to me that you are in the very early stages of pregnancy and although its hard you really need to wait and see.

i had a blighted ovum and i had all the signs of pregnancy, but also had spotting and stomach cramps.

try not to worry and wait for definitive tests to come back... good luck!

i don't know where you're from but they do have ones that go in vaginally. they couldn't fnd anything with me witht he out side one even at 11 weeks. it may be the way the placenta attaches. i doubt anything is wrong.

Babies who dont get enough fat do this.

Consume coconut oil, red meats and butters..your
child will thank you.
