I believe you should be aware of your Government. Keep a watchful eye on it. I would prefer to say, be cautious.
"Like a dog, the Government will take the sandwich right off your plate when you blink."

No way. I will never trust trust this government no matter who is running it. If you look at the events of the past you will see a strange but undeniable pattern. For starters the president is given entirely to much credit. He is merely a spokesman for the house. There is no way that one man can steal an entire nation not once but twice. Whoever he works for holds the real power and contrary to popular belief the government is not run by it's people.
The front page headline talked about impeachment of President Clinton due to the Monica Lewinsky scandal but Bush can go and massacre an entire country without any repercussions. How is that possible. You can go to work for two weeks and they are allowed to take a certain percentage of your income and withhold it for a year. WHAT!!!!!!
Government is today's name for the mob. September 11 will go down in the history books forever. It will go down in my book for a different reason. September 11 is the first time America has a launched an attack on it's citizens for it's own personal financial satiety. I am sorry if this brings up emotion or pain, but this has got to stop. It's time to reclaim our nation. It's no longer racial discrimination and prejudice, we are approaching the days of social class discrimination. If you aren't on the upper steps, you are nobody. Please people lets take back the land that is rightfully ours. The land that was left to us as well as them. If you do nothing else, educate yourself, your family, your friends.
We can pray for our troops and wish their families the best but how will we feel when the tables are turned?
America has never had a war on it's own land, but the day is to come. The day of civilian bloodsed and sacrifice, we are all expendable. Are You Ready?????

No. People should not put trust in their government. They should not fear the government either. Power belongs to the people! It should always belong to the people! The government should be afraid of the common man. The white house would do well to be filled once again with men like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Andrew Jackson - common and wise men!

reagan once said "Trust but verify" when talking about the russians and i think it applies here.
Also, Thomas Paine said in his "Common Sense"
"Society is produced by our wants, and government by wickedness; the former promotes our happiness positively by uniting our affections, the latter negatively by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher. Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil"

I've never trusted the government... The funny this is they trust their citizens to trust them in return.

Depends who is running it. Right now, I don't trust anything that comes out of that place, but I think I should under better circumstances.

Actually, there is a quote which says:
"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
(From the film V for Vendetta)

Power corrupts absolutely. Maintain yourself accountable - I'll do what I can from here - maybe together we can all grow a nation.
