It's a birth defect. Happened to a teenage mother that I knew back in the 1970s. Her kid was born missing a thumb on one hand, had too many fingers on the other, and was blind. So yes, it's definitely possible.

Well I can't be born without a thumb because I am already born. But babies can be born with many different birth defects of that type and more.

If you mean defect, then yes, it is. You can be born without a thumb. If anything isn't the same as normal human anatomy, then its a birth defect.

Yes, I had a friend who was born with only a few fingers on each hand. They just didn't develop right. It is considered a birth defect.

Yes and no its not considered normal. You can also be born with two thumbs like my nephew. He had his "real" thumb, then out of the side of it, he had another appendage with no bone in it. It was surgically removed when he was 3 months old. He is now 16 and fine.

i think birth effect. it all depends on the parents sex cells. if they are missing the cell to make the thumb, the child wont have one. atleast thats what i think my science teacher said

Watch NPR? The radio community? Ah, a libertarian. no longer something like a team of people who know no longer something yet have confident themselves that they are lots smarter than all of us else. optimistically you will strengthen out of your Ayn Rand point like maximum young little ones do.
