Some signs that he might be married:

1. Does he refuse to give you his home phone number?

2. Has he never taken you to where he lives? Has he refused to give you his home address, made excuses why he can't/won't let you know where he lives?

3. Have you been introduced to any of his longtime friends or people he works with? Or does he keep you to himself, refusing to talk about people he knows or introduce you to his friends?

If any of those are true, then I'd just point-blank assume that he's either married or has another girlfriend. Personally, I wouldn't be on close or intimate terms with a guy until he'd let me know where he lived, I'd met some of his friends, and I felt comfortable knowing who he was as a person.
