Hmmm, the obvious seems too obvious. Seeing as you chose the phrase "one" as opposed to 1+1, I'd assume this is a philosophical experiment based solely upon people's perceptions of blatancy and I'd like to have an attempt at acting the unexpected and questioning the question. Confused? You should be.

I propose your definition of "one" is inadiquate and that you're actually probably not reffering to the number itself but rather to some other entity, such as a person ("one" is doing something) and that one plus one is a couple, a partnership or something else far more blatant that I appear to have missed in my haste to answer the question.

Other than that, it could be a further maths issue in which the sole definitions of numbers become blurry and we establish that is truly not possible to attain sole integers either for or from numerical actuators, thus intoning that the answer is approximately two, but in actuality, we discover that we are unable to be certain, but it could be anything between a range of 1.00000001 to 2.4444449 due to rounding of the initial numbers (if we can even assume that they were really numbers in the first instance) before the numerical actuators were applied.

Another likelyhood is that you're toying with us with your use of plus and you actually refer to "one" or "1" as a string value for the likes of programming purpuses of a concatenation action in which case the answer would have to be "11" or "oneone"

However, I could be wrong and the answer could be two.

According to Robert Miles:

After all is said and done
One and one still is one
When we cry, when we laugh
I am half, you are half

10.

As in, "there are 10 types of people in the world: those that understand binary, and those that don't".
