I agree that to some extent this is an effect of the present time as well as it depends on the country you live in too.
I have no reason to feel unhappy.
I have every reason to feel happy and contented.
Usually I am at peace with myself.
Yet I am missing something.
That's why I have this urge to surf Yahoo!Answers.

I don't think lonely and alone are the true reasons. There are good reasons, even though on the surface it may seem a bit pointless at times. Many, many questions, of course, are not worthy of a response, but some are.

No, I'm not lonely and alone, I'm bored sitting at the reception desk of an office with nothing to do. Yes, it may well be a sign of the times.

Actually, I am not lonely, but find it rather educational in some respects to read and answer, as well as ask questions. The only part I dread is the ones where the person answering is being mean to the asker. But we all have our bad days and our good.

I don't know about anybody else but I am not lonely because I have a lovely husband and I do what needs to be done in my life. I just like answering people's questions and giving people information, helping them to improve their knowledge.

Not sure, my reasons for being here is to merely curiosity to observe others views and options on certain issues, and what I have learned is nothing more than what I knew before, but never the less I still find people who think outside the box.
