Dictatorship is probably a bad word.for what he is meaning. A classless society would be brought about by the working classes acting together democratically to govern ourselves.
But to do this you have to get rid of the things that divide us and create a class society. i.e. you have to do away with the concept of ownership and the system of money that we live by at the moment.
That isn't to say we create a communist regime such as that of the Soviet Union. Because that was still a state that was governed by money.
The essence of what Marx was going on about is creating a moneyless, classless society where all things are owned by everyone and all have an opportunity to have a say in the way society is going.

Power to the Proletariat! The church is the opiate of the masses. I think some of his claims still hold merit to this day, I believe power should not rest with a small elite class, the people should rule, not bogus democacy etc. Some of his thoughts were misguided like the church because of his humble backgrounds and a corrupt church at his time period but many of his thoughts brought about a 'revolution'. I think Karl Marx was a dangerous man because of the threat he posed to the Monarchy's of Europe/

It's been a long, long time since I've read Marx so I can't answer the 2d part of the question, but since his claim has yet to be proved (particularly in Russia, North Korea, China and Cuba) I would have to say that he was wrong.

Great in theory, impossible in practice. Every society that has tried Socialism in one of its forms has turned into a dictatorship. Every "Socialist" I know enjoys all the benefits of a free market economy while spouting revolutionary slogans. If you can stay awake for long enough, try and read "Das Kapital", I think this is the book you're thinking of.

It's been tried and it has failed. As soon as communists get a sniff of capitalism, they want it!
