sould i invest in a solid guitar?? (gibson, american tele) or should i invest in a solid amp?? (vox ac30, mesa)

I agree. Invest in the guitar and mastering it. No point having equipment to help you sound good when you're not able to do it justice yet! Besides, if you're good enough to get gigs, your clients will have the sound equipment for you to blast with!

Anyway, I've always felt that instruments are always more worth investing in. Even if you get a cheap, low-grade amp, if you're super on the strings, it'll still sound good and wow everyone else.

i suggest you invest on the amp if your in a band or a group but if its only you invest the money on a kickass guitar, then after a while you can buy the amp i suppose. Its the guitar making the sound after all not the amp.

You won't believe how much better even the cheapest amp will sound with a good guitar. Conversely, you won't believe how bad a good guitar sounds through a cheap amp.

Get the guitar first.

Well, you can play an electric guitar without an amp, but you can't use the amp without a guitar ... so, buy the guitar and practice unamplified, and get an amp when you can afford to!

guitar, then when your really great at playing it, get a good amp
