I think it is rich, and people migrates to the USA to get more money, join their families, join the trend and get some adventure. 3 out of 4 mexicans that migrate to the USA leave their job in Mexico, the other one had no job in Mexico.
Mexicans learn in elementary school about the USA-Mexico war in which the USA took half of the country and then, now, mexicans feel there is perfectly normal and rightfull to cross the border, or as they often say: the border crossed them. Mexicans migrating norht started when even parts of Washington State were mexican territory and the flow hasnot stoped ever since. There are about 20 million mexicans living in the USA, so you can figure out easily how many mexicans in Mexico have relatives living in the States.
On the other hand, in the last 3 years the increase in money sent to Mexico by mexicans working in the US has reached more than 100% increase and almost 300% in the last 8 years. The amount of each "money order" has not increased thou (300 dollars average), which means that they are not earning more, they are more! and more! Right now Mexico receive 3 million dollars per hour (24/7) from workers in the USA and that is almost the same money Mexico gets from Oil Exports, and more than it gets from tourism and car exports.
Even if the current flow stops, the increase of mexican population here will keep growing since they have one of the highest birth rate in the states. For mexicans here more kids means they will have more strength as a minority. They will be back when they cannot find a job here in the USA.
Those are only facts. I personally like them here. Diversity is good.

Mexico is the eleventh richest country acording to the CIA fact book.
Mexico enconomy has grown a lot since 2000, the first really democratic elections.

With the Pan mexico has reduced the poverty from 52 million mexians to 41 and the extreme poverty from 18 millions to 14 millions.

Mexico is getting better, and the corruption is stoping.

I think Mexico can do it.

But if people still vote for persons like Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, (is like a mexican chavez) everything will go wrong, now he says that they cheated him on the elections and he is trying to make a revolution.

Mexico IS already a rich country, the lack of social interest by the government is what has kept Mexico in the dark for so long.

It is rich in natural resources LOTS of it.

It is a rich country in which all the fortune is kept by the rich who humiliate the poor, instead of all the fortune being spread among a middle class. Mexico has more natural resources than the USA, hope that makes it clear how "rich" it is.

WITH FELIPE CALDERON AS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF MEXICO, THINGS WILL GET BETTER AND NOW PEOPLE CAN EXPECT A REAL CHANGE WITH HIM NOW. HE IS A REAL MAN WHO WILL CHANGE THINGS AND NOT RUN HOW PAN WANT'S HIM TO.

MEXICO IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT HAS IT ALL AND IT COULD BE THE STRONGEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT NOT EVEN THE EURO COULD MAKE IT SWEAT. BUT DUE TO THE BAD CORRUPTION IN MEXICO,,, THEY STEAL IT ALL AND LEAVE MEXICO ALLMOST DRY. THAT IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO COME ILLEGAL CAUSE FOR 11 HOURS WORK AND 100 PESOS,under 10 dlls. THAT CAN NOT FEED A FAMILY OF 8 OR MORE.

BUT AS I SAID BEFORE, MEXICO WILL GET BETTER WITH FELIPE CALDERON AS PRESIDENT.
I WISH YOU WELL.

mexico is a rich country ( i dont understand how people dont know this!), the problem it has is that the money is not distributed correctly throughout the country.
i think you need to go there to actually see it is not the poor country everyone thinks it is..and by going there i mean anything that is not american influenced like the border cities.

For your information:Mexico is not poor is not well administrated. Which country spends 100,000 dollars in buying towels to his consulates??? Do you know the salary of the president, the senators, etc??? I agree with Ross you should better take a book and inform yourself.

it is a rich country right now, they have many resources, it's just the politicians that take all the wealth that affect it. If you mean have a higher quality of life for mexicans it will take a revolution, like the one just starting by our legitimate president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
