What i am trying to do is set up some type of connection so that me and my brother can share each others computers on, i want to beable to controll his computer, and him able to controll mine. (i am NOT talking about Remote Assestence). if you understand wat i need help with please repley. I am sorry if i did not provide you with enough info for you to help. if you need more info please add me to your hotmail contact list and i will help you there... i have a mic and webcam and am on rite now. my adress is gamemaker2006@hotmail.com additional info below.

-We both have wireless cards
-i have a 2006 Xp Desktop, my bro has a 2002 XP laptop

You can't do it wireless without a router to assign an IP address.
If you have a router, then you need to make both computers part of the same "workgroup" (default for XP is MSHOME). Then you need to make the hard drive on each computer "shareable" by right clicking on the "c drive" in my computer and going to "sharing". After you have done that, then you should be able to see each computer in "my network places". You will be able to open, copy, move files etc.

Not sure what you mean by "control" the computer.

Only way to do something like that is Network the two computers or do remote assistance. The main comp has to be set up first then the secondary. Only thing that you would be able to do is share files and printers..etc....

sure you can have a peer to peer network via wireless. its called adhoc network. simply configure the wireless cards with the same settings but a different ip address in the same range of course.
