My advice? Stop talking to your mom about this particular subject. If she doesn't believe in you, that's her problem.

Do what you love. Period. You don't need any math to speak of to get a degree in Elementary Education. If you have trouble paying attention in class, get in a program that allows you to work at your own pace. There are numerous online degree programs from accredited universities.

You have to start by believing in you. Most parents merely want their kids to be happy andto be doing what they really want to do. I am sure your dad would be really proud of you, whatever you end up doing, especially if you are happy too. And don't worry about your mom. She has to realise that she has had her go at life and job choices....it's your go now and you must do what you really want to do.
Go talk to a tutor you like and trust at your college, if you are at one and explain your predicament. I have to tell you, that if you REALLY do want to be a kindergarden teacher I can see little reason for you not to try. Have faith in you....do it for YOU. You have to know that you are okay and can do things if you really try. Go ahead....swop course and I bet you'll make a wonderful teacher for little ones. Good luck!

With the things facing you it's going to take more work to get to where you want to be, a kindergarten teacher. Listen to what your mother has to say, but it's ultimately up to you to put your mind to making your dream happen. If you need extra help getting where you need to be, get it. Put in the work you need to and you will achieve your dream! I hope you achieve it!
