Why hasn't George Bush been impeached yet? His illegal wire-tapping has continued even when he knows he is in serious violation of US law? And why was he ever re-elected? Are there that many Americans who are stupid and brain dead?

During Nixon's time, the Federal Courts ruled that secret wire-tapping could occur, but they needed to get warrants through a court. That court was allowed to be secret and closed. Bush has not even bothered with this way of doing things. That makes his actions illegal.

I hate to say it but, yes, there are that many American voters who are stupid and brain dead. They are called right wing, conservative, Republicans.

WAKE UP. STOP SPEWING PROPAGANDA.

THE DEMOCRAPS ARE WEAK. STATUS QUO.

YOU CAN'T TOUCH BOSS BUSH.THE WIRE TAPPING IS NOT ILLEGAL YET. YOU'RE SO UNINFORMED THAT YOU MAKE THE REPUBS LOOK LIKE GENIUSES

If anybody needed a reason to think twice about delivering the Senate — and the White House — to the Democrats, they need only take a close look at two of the more liberal judges on the federal district court in Detroit.

First up, of course, is Anna Diggs Taylor, the Jimmy Carter appointee who issued a hyperventilating decision last week declaring the Bush wiretaps of foreign telephone calls unconstitutional. The legal reasoning in the decision — or rather the lack of it — has embarrassed even some of the liberal commentariat. The decision is on hold pending an appeal by the government.

SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE STUPID AND BRAIN DEAD.
TYPICAL LIBERAL INSULTING PEOPLE TO GET THEIR FEEBLE POINT WRONG.

Bush is now the least popular President in the history of the United States. His approval rating stands at 30%. He will be remembered as the President who was responsible for increasing Anti-American sentiment around the world, fueling Islamic extremism and hatred of the US, and causing an increase in the strength and membership of Al Quada. He will not be remembered kindly.

Keep in mind however, that HIS party has been in control during his entire Presidency. Perhaps the Democratic congress will address the issue of impeachment someday soon.

As far as why he was re-elected, possibly it was his war. Traditionally, Americans do not like to change Presidents in the middle of a war. (whether or not that war is popular)

The answer to all of your questions is fear.

He won't get impeached because the Democrats are afraid they will upset the moderate voters that helped them take back Congress which will result in them giving it back to the GOP in 2008.

The Democrats are afraid to challenge him on his illegal wire-tapping because they know Karl Rove, Tony Snow, and Dick Cheney will call them names like "appeasers to the terrorists" and accuse them of supporting al Qaeda and not protecting Americans.

He was re-elected because the GOP made everyone afraid that if you sent a Democrat to the White House, al Qaeda would be at your door the next day.

I don't think Americans are stupid and brain dead. They are just too lazy to do any real thinking and analyze what their elected officials' real agendas are. It's much easier to just sit there and be afraid and listen to FoxNews tell you that the terrorists and other boogie men will kill you if you vote Democrat.

Basically if Clinton can have sex with his Secretary in the Oval Office and not get impeached then Bush won't get impeached for doing something that a lot of the government does already.

You say its illegal but what law did he break? Seriously. Please cite the statute or court opinion that explicitly prohibits this and please do not quote the 4th amendment, your personal interpretation of Constitutional Amendments are meaningless. Cite a Supreme Court opinion.

Also, just on historical note, FDR ordered domestic wiretaps of any suspected German sympathizers BEFORE WWII even began in blatant violation of Federal Law and Supreme Court decisions outlawing wiretaps. (Both have since been overturned)

He hasn't been impeached yet because his actions have proved to be lawful for him. He was reelected because the people wanted him through their intelligence and intellect.
