Even as a Denver Broncos fan I have to confess that Tomlinson is an awesome runningback. I would even go so far as to say that he will go down in history as the best. Better than Jim Brown, Walter Payton or O.J. Simpson. This guy's just incredible. I am astonished to see him play. He cuts through any defense like a hot knife through butter.
Charger fans, I have to burst your bubble though, the Chargers would be nothing right now without Tomlinson. I think Rivers is overrated and would not have such good numbers if Tomlinson were not backing him up with a strong running game.

Yes, Sanders and Emmit Smith are also among the best of all time, but I still favor Tomlinson. Hopefully the Broncos can put the brake on him for at least this week.

No, I think there were better running backs. He is probably the best catching and throwing runningback of all time. But overall as a player he is not better. Emmitt Smith has the career rushing record by a lot and he was playing for a team that used that passing attack a lot. Tomlinson is getting more of the attention at SD. I would still say he will be in the top 5.

He needs to play a little longer and win a couple of championships in order to be the best. L.T. is definitely sick but it's still too early to tell. He has alot of talent around him so he doesn't really have to do everything himself. That doesn't mean he wouldn't be good on another team because he is awesome. He's difinitely in the top 10 right now. Longevity and durablity will determine if he is the best. I always have this debate with my friends and we can always come up with very good reasons why one RB or the other is the best and some of the best never won championships and I don't necessarily agree that it matters whether or not it should be an issue. But since today everyone is so obsessed with championships the best has to be Emmitt Smith. He broke the rushing record and he also has more championships than any of the great backs in any era. But if I were going to choose a RB with my heart I would in a million years always choose Earl Campbell. If you saw him play you would know why. He made a horrible team competitive all by himself and can hardly walk straight from all the punishment he took (from great defensive teams Steelers, Raiders, etc.) during his short career.

It's really difficult to say that Tomlinson is the best of all time, mostly because he's relatively small. Jim Brown was all that, and he could do it going up the middle and shedding 3 or 4 tackles... when Tomlinson is in the open he is absolutely electric, but he's just not a bruiser like Brown was.

convinced. for confident he discover the endzone extra perfect than everybody. He ought to certainly bypass into second in all time speeding TDs next 12 months (he's @ one hundred w/2 video games left, Payton is third w/one hundred and ten, and Allen is second w/123 ---in many years he will beat Emmitt's 164 as well). and that i do not opt to take some thing remote from JB, even with the undeniable fact that the defenders of his day were smaller and slower to a important degree than they were on the instant. He stood out in his own time more beneficial than the different participant, yet when anybody became positioned on an identical level, LT shines the brightest.

No. Walter Peyton, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders to name but 3 are still better than him. It's all media driven this hype about LT. He is the best back in the NFL at the moment though.

I also think Baryy Sanders, Jim Brown, and Walter Payton are better than LT. LT is good but not as great as those three RBs.

If he stays healthy, and is lucky enough to be surrounded by good players, he has a good chance to break a lot of records. It looks like he has the talent to do so. A lot can happen in the years to come and only time will tell if he earn the moniker "best of all time". It will be fun to watch him in the meantime.

Time will tell if LT is the best of all time. But based on what he's doing so far, he'll probably break all the rushing records.
